Excavations
Home

Excavations can be costly and time-consuming, which is why they must be well-organised and well-managed. All intrusive site work is supervised by MIFA staff and undertaken to IFA standards. We are a small company with a pride in delivering good service and maintaining high standards. We can tailor any work to suit your individual requirements, and we always keep to deadlines. Chiltern Archaeology undertake excavations in the following categories:

As part of a Watching Brief, monitoring and recording.
As trial excavations: trenching, test-pitting +/- augering to determine the nature, extent or survival of archaeological remains.
As survey work ahead of site development.
Large sites and projects that can be divided up and dealt with in stages.
Research-related, with permissions already obtained.
